A white restaurant server in St. Louis was caught on video berating a Black customer who asked about her bill.

In the video, the server, identified as Maddy on social media, hurled a derogatory remark at the Black woman after she asked to clarify a charge on her bill at Crafted restaurant.

The customer shared now-viral footage of the incident on TikTok.

“What’s the issue over here?” the employee asked the woman, who appeared to be seated and sipping her drink.

The customer told the worker to speak with the bartender, whom she had already addressed the issue with, after her original server took too long to return to the table.

“I just asked what’s the issue,” the staffer repeated.

The woman then explained that a happy-hour discount hadn't been applied to her bill. The diner said the bartender acknowledged the mistake and promised to rectify it. She then advised the waitress to check with her co-worker about the issue.

The server then hurled the derogatory remark at the customer.

“Okay, let’s not be a b-tch, she’s gonna get it taken care of,” she said.

“What’s your name? What’s your name?" the customer said in response to the insult, before asking to speak with the manager.

“You don’t need to get loud in here,” the waiter replied. “So just be quiet."

According to the customer, who shared the footage, the manager ultimately comped the entire bill after the incident.

"She thought she was gonna get away with that nasty comment bc that’s what she’s used to doing. I’m recording all professional disputes going forward lol," one TikTok user commented on the video.

"Correcting the check and adding the discount shouldn’t be this hostile. No professionalism either and vulgar language on the floor is crazy. Like cuss in the back," another person wrote.

"Will never understand how people willingly speak to others like that. How is she not humiliated," a third user said.
