A white TikToker is going viral after she hijacked the term "Black fatigue" and used it to explain away racism.
In a now-deleted video, a TikTok user was reportedly discussing the viral incident where a white woman was caught hurling the n-word at a Black child at a Minnesota playground when she delved into her version of "Black fatigue" to justify the racist act.
The white TikToker said the playground incident shouldn't have happened, but the woman's actions were understandable due to society being "unbelievably fed up with the ghetto ratchet behavior" of Black people as a whole.
"Black fatigue is real. I think society as a whole is there. We are so unbelievably fed up with the ghetto ratchet behavior," the TikToker said in the now-deleted video.
"What? Black person blaming white person for all their problems?" she continued, using apparent sarcasm. "You don't see that everyday."
"This is why people have Black fatigue. I'm sick and tired of opening TikTok and seeing brawls on cruises, brawls in the airport. The most ghetto behavior. We're tired," the woman added.
Video of the woman's take on "Black fatigue" went viral and prompted swift backlash, likely leading to her wiping the footage from her page.
Still, social media users called out how the white TikToker had hijacked the term "Black fatigue," which is actually intended to describe "the emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by the daily stress of living under systemic racism and its consequences."
"So the Black community has Black fatigue due to the oppression they've lived under in this country since its inception," one TikTok user explained in a video.
Others pointed out how white people are replacing the term "DEI" with "Black fatigue" to cover their racism.
Another user explained all things that give her "white fatigue," including "Karens calling the police on Black people for just existing" and "Mass shooters being described as troubled young men."
Social media users identified the white TikToker as April Childers, a kindergarten teacher at Strickland Christian School in Austin, TX.
