Several Trump-supporting media personalities are bashing the president's plan to accept a free luxury plane from the Qatari government.

According to CNN, MAGA commentators and social media personalities are urging Trump to change his mind about accepting the gift from Qatar, a move that has also been highly criticized by Democrats.

Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro said Monday that the reaction would be different if a Democratic president planned to accept the highly valuable gift from a foreign power.

“I think if we switched the names to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden, we’d all be freaking out on the right,” Shapiro said on his podcast.

“The administration’s policy is too important for this sort of activity,” he added. “President Trump promised to drain the swamp. This is not, in fact, draining the swamp.”

Despite Trump saying it would be "stupid" to turn down the free jet, Laura Loomer criticized the potential deal, noting Qatar's relationship with the militant group Hamas. The Qatari capital of Doha has served as a base for senior members of Hamas.

"This is really going to be such a stain on the admin if this is true,” Loomer wrote on X. “And I say that as someone who would take a bullet for Trump. I’m so disappointed.”

Fox News host Mark Levin agreed with Loomer's take, resharing her post and writing “Ditto.”

Trump has previously described Qatar's donation as "a very nice gesture" and "a gift to the Department of Defense." The president noted that he doesn't plan on using the jet after leaving office. Trump will reportedly use the luxury plane as Air Force One during his term. Ownership of the plane will then be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation following his time in the White House, according to sources familiar with the deal.

“This is not a gift” from Qatar, it’s “a bribe,” MAGA supporter Batya Ungar-Sargon told Newsmax on Monday.

National Review contributing editor Andrew McCarthy said accepting the plane is “indefensible,” adding that “the president and his flacks again demonstrate that they don’t grasp the concepts of constitutional duty and conflicts of interest.”
