A-listers Dionne Warwick and Khloe Kardashian have joined fans in calling out the Grammys reporters who snubbed legendary producer Babyface on the red carpet.
On Sunday (February 2), video from the Associated Press Red Carpet Coverage of the 2025 Grammys went viral after the two reporters cut off award-winning producer Babyface, 65, mid-interview to speak to pop artist Chappell Roan.
The apparent snub occurred when reporter, Krysta Fauria, noticed Roan walking by during Babyface's interview.
“Chappell!” Fauria said as she tried to get Roan's attention. The reporter again yelled the singer's name while her colleague watched.
“You guys want to do that? Go do that,” Babyface, a 13-time Grammy winner, told the reporters after noticing Roan was behind him.
“So sorry, Babyface. I’m so sorry,” the second reporter, Leslie Ambriz, said to the producer as he walked away and was replaced by Roan, who won the Best New Artist award later that night.
Ambriz later issued an apology on AP's live-streamed red carpet coverage.
“I’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier,” Ambriz said. “Chappell Roan had come up and there was a lot of commotion, as there is on these carpets, but I’m a big Babyface fan and so I just wanted to say that I really apologize.”
Despite the apology, Warwick and Kardashian blasted the reporters over their interaction with the award-winning producer.
“13x Grammy Award winning Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds?” Warwick wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Am I seeing this correctly?”
In a follow-up post, Warwick tagged the outlet alongside a screenshotted definition of the word "decorum."
Kardashian called the reporter's interaction with the 13-time Grammy winner "maddening."
“This is so disrespectful how Babyface was treated in this interview,” she tweeted. “Babyface has had such a significant impact on the music industry, in sooo many ways. Its maddening to see a LEGEND not get the respect and attention they deserve. He is a pioneer and deserves so much better than this.”
The reality television star also praised Babyface for how he handled the situation.
“I love you @babyface And I am a forever fan and thankful for all that you have blessed us with,” Kardashian said. “By the way—what a class act you are.”
AP addressed the backlash over the snub in a statement on Wednesday (February 3).
"We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube livestream of the Grammys red carpet. We have apologized to him through his representative and to our viewers on the livestream," the outlet wrote in a post on X.
