One year after securing a victory in the general election alongside Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris is hitting the campaign trail yet again. This time around, she's heading down south to Virginia in support of Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe as he campaigns to become the state's next governor. WAVY reports Harris will participate in an event on October 29 in the Old Dominion alongside Virginia native, Pharrell Williams.

Williams joins the Dave Matthews Band in offering his support for McAuliffe as he tries to push forward in what has become a heated race between himself and GOP candidate Glenn Youngkin. In recent months, Williams has built a relationships with McAuliffe following the shooting death of his cousin, Donovon Lynch, and his efforts to improve areas of the state. He's also threatened to pull his popular music festival, Something In The Water, out of the area until changes are made.

“I’ve spoken to Pharrell many times on this topic, he’s very upset. That’s one of the reasons why he’s supporting me for governor because as I did before bringing people in,” McAuliffe said, according to WAVY.

One of the many people that McAuliffe has brought in as election day nears is former President Barack Obama. Over the weekend, the former President joined the gubernatorial hopeful in Virginia for a campaign event.

“When you’ve got someone in your corner who has shown that they will work for you, who has a track record of accomplishments, then you have to go out there and work for them. Not because everything suddenly is going to be perfect but because it’s going to be better,” Obama told a crowd of voters in Virginia, according to The Hill.

“Go out there and fight and work because you’re going to decide this election and the direction of Virginia and this country for generations to come."

Election day is set for November 2 in Virginia.
